Where is everyone? |
|
Why is it when I have a change of schedule, and am not able to be here every weekend everyone just dissapears? It happens every time. Why do people work so hard to get a "Leadership" possition and then when the opportunity comes to be a leader, no one steps up? I understand some of you are busy, maybe with school starting and such, but you all can't have had a dramatic schedule change the exact same time I did. I am not the Covenant of Vampires, we all are. But it seems that if I am not here, no one does a damn thing.
You don't have to be a Bishop to get on alliance chat and say "Hey anyone want to do something?" A month ago if I said "Hello" on Alliance, I would get at least 4 responses, just about any time of the day. Now no one is on at all. If alliance is not working, use the message board, if that doesn't work, use the icq list I have on here for everyone to use. If none of my leaders are willing to lead, and none of the ones who aspire to be leaders are willing to lead, maybe I need to reconsider everyones ranks.
I want everyone to respond to this message and explain where they are and why hardly none of you have even tried to get together and do stuff.

If there's one thing I've learned is if your name isn't Necrosis, nobody gives a shit about getting involved because your name isn't Necrosis therefore you don't matter. At least that's the general attitude I've gotten from 90% of the guild that I've had interactions with and I'm not the only one in this guild with rank who has gotten that attitude from the people.
I actually have to give the most kudos to the clan I can stand the least and that is clan Tremere and it's two constant players (Goratrix and Dracul) for having an active intrest in what's going on.
My own clan can't even post a stupid story on a board when they have 31 freaking days to think of something just to be proactive. The Malkavians have over 7 people which is more than the rest of the Clans, but my name isn't Necrosis so nobody has to do what I say and I'm not Necrosis so fuck you, you punish me I'll just cry to the real Necrosis and get my way neener neener.
Real life issues are one thing. I know a number of people have been having a bad time or a busy time having kids and breaking ribs somehow but for nearly 100% of the guild not doing anything is pathetic. Even I post on the board and try to get things going and I have a busy work scheduel like Kohan does, minus the broken body and the kid. I at least still try like he (Kohan) does.
I have issues I have to deal with which I'm not saying is any worse or better than anyone else's. Stress is stress but I came up with a quest that people are working hard on, it's not just me, but a couple of people including the person on the quest have vested a lot of time and effort into, which has the possibilities to open the door to further quests and give us plenty of things to do as a whole guild once this quest is done. (no rush by the way, have fun doing it right).
After seeing how most of this guild is in general, I honestly and sadly believe I wasted my time but more importantly everyone elses time who took part, but one person said thank you for the quest and it wasn't Necrosis. Because of that one person who likes what he's doing I'll continue, even if it is, just for him.
There have been plenty of times that I've told Nec that I'm thinking about stepping down and just being a nobody because rank in this guild apparently doesn't mean shit. He wants me to become a Seraph and put effort into that goal but I see no reason as to why I should even bother wasting my time with it and so far I haven't. In my opinion Necrosis is way to leniant with the people in this guild but I understand his dilema. I bitch to him all the time about it, but I can't argue that he's the one with the true shit job in this guild.
After everything that he and previous members have put into this guild (8 years and counting). Hard work, endless resourses, endless hours working on a char that wasn't his and equiping a lot of people who had nothing, ME included, stupid me just believes Necrosis, what this guild is as a whole deserves more than nothing......but that's just stupid me, a lowly no rank Cardinal
That's my $1.50, suck on it if you don't like it.
Dracul, you're not stepping down from nothing. You've earned your rank, r/l or not, you're keeping it. I mean that in the most sincere way possible for a bloodline I despise. Make sence?
Raiden, Omi- Great job with the war packs. I understand there are issues with you guys as well. You still have my kudo's. We'll also be trying to get you more than just one part time enemy to beat on.
Kohan- You're up and coming, no stress. T-hunts are a great idea!! That's proactive thinking but you're a Ravnos so that just mean's you'll be jacking our share of the loot.........
Moira- Straight off the boat and already on the race track. She has taken me on an ungodly number of T-hunts and has on NUMEROUS times invited the entire guild where most of the time she was snuffed and it ended up being just the two of us. But hey, more gold for me.
Oh yeah, I was supposed to explain myself BEFORE I got on the soap box. My hours are rough, you know that. Nuff said. Necrosis should be proud. It took me over an hour to edit this post and remove all non-essential profanity. I should get a bonus BP for it.

AS I told you Necrosis. I've been trying to find another job to keep my account active, kids are in school and my marriage is falling apart so my time in game has been kinda cut short. I will do my best to be around alot more, I log in when I can to work characters, I had fun playing a new character was thinking putting into guild maybe COS she might make a good addition to*shrugs*
Epoh, I like doing things with other guild memebers but I never once got invited to doing any t-maps. Btw, I also have a T-hunter in guild which has only been on a couple on treasure hunts with guild. The whole guild matters to me thank you very much. I only met a few members most won't say jack to me.
Anyways if you want to take away my rank or remove me from guild I'll understand

I think (reluctantly) that Epoch hit the nail on the head with his post. I also must say that he does a great job as well keeping quests going and I am certainly interested in how Dracul is doing with his latest.
I also agree that RL comes before UO. Perhaps to alleviate the stress of our leader, we might make a thread titled "Leave of Absence" and that way people can say "Hey, I won't be around this week". I do not think anyone needs to provide a reason (or a doctor's note) lol, but it might be useful to keep track of everyone that way.
As always, I will be around if anyone needs anything. My tower is open to the guild.

I must step up and say something here. Just becasue one individual doesnt see certain people on and doesnt see certain people participating !! Some of us including myself and KAin get on here almost everyday asking is someone is interested in a hunt . I dont think its cool to name certain members as the ones who are more into the guild than others , Im on EVERYDAY!! I dont always post because maybe some of us arent as clever with our little stories as the rest. I dont appreciate a few people's name getting mentioned as being the ones who go all out for this guild , and the rest to be made feel as if they arent . I go to every meeting EVERY Sunday . I cant remmber the last one i missed . How many of you can say that??? I go whether Necrosis shows up or not , and hes aware of that fact. GEtting tired of the negativity in this guild by certain members who think they do more or that they care more.
Many times Kain or myself have come onto Alliance chat and asked (even pleaded ) with people to join me or us to go hunt. Especially when we see people in the guild roster on and they dont even say hello or reply to us AT aLL!!
Go ahead and blast me for this entry . I dont care.

Huzzah! Good post there Drucilla! I understand what you are talking about for the posting on here. Im not that much clever but ive just decided to say screw it. And as when people are on the guild thing and they dont seem to say anything at all, that also rather irks me... I realize that i dont try to get hunts together. Well, i do if i see someone on im like where are you, can we do something together. But other than that im normally searching for someone. Yesterday when i was actually able to get on because i got off work early and was able to go to my friends house before his Night Shift kicked in, I was on all day after that, i stayed on till 11 30 that night. Raiden, Necrosis, and Aelfrid (I think thats his name or Kohan) we did something. I wasnt a part of what was going on but still. I liked to tag along and watch. It was humorous, and i met Toren, that beast guy.
I show up for anything because I LOVE events and such even if they are stupid, it gives me something to look forward to. I like the meetings ill show up to every single one if im able to get online. Im part of the Military so thats why you dont see me on every day. I am E1, I am the lowest of the low, I have to live on the ship, i cant live out in town, I dont have a car or a place to stay, or a liscence for that matter. Believe me, if i had my own house to live in or if i stayed in a room like my friend does. Id get cable internet and be on every day. Before i joined the military i was on every day when there was something to do. Then I joined a forum site of Gaiaonline. but yeah... Im sure you people really dont care for this post but hell... anyone who reads this will know why im not on at any moment. military or little access to the internet. I wouldnt even be on UO at all if it wasnt for my friend Wu. thats got to say something right there. If my laptop wasnt screwed up either to where my wireless wont work, if my wireless worked, i could be on every day as long as i went to C9, but only from a certain time frame. Anywho... Plus with Military comes Duty days, Today happens to be my duty day so you wont see me much... cept for on this site, is the only place you will see me.
Im with Drucilla anyway >.> im on often yet no one meets up with me, well not no one, a few people do, but we end up not doing nothing because irl calls them. So yeah... Oh yeah, last night i got Lord Kain, then died... 3 times... helping this newb out, but thats for a different thing.
Oh yeah... Epoch says something about the Tremere... can i stat that Im a Tremere >.> So huzzah!

I do see Drucilla and kain on alliance chat and try to say hi, sometimes I don't see the chat when out hunting trying to stay alive.. Drucilla makes a good point here, | | Just because one individual doesn't see certain people on and doesn't see certain people participating. Some of us including myself and Kain get on here almost everyday asking if someone is interested in a hunt. |
And here's another point she makes which I'm guilty of myself cause its true for me
 | | I dont always post because maybe some of us arent as clever with our little stories as the rest. |
I would like to do more hunts and events with guild, but if you go to some place like twisted weild have to count me out I can't move in there with my connection. If I'm not a good enough guild mate cause my connection keeps me from participating for some events and real life issues have kept me from logging as often, than perhaps you should remove me from guild. It's not that I want to go cause I really like a couple people in the coven at least the ones I met seem really nice.
One last thing just because you don't seen me on icq its because I'm usually hidden and will responde if you send a messge and I'm online. I've been online with a coven character and see another memeber on roster I do say hello and don't get a response back I kinda guilty of not saying hello to anyone anymore. It's like why bother saying hello if they don't say anything back to you, but will talk to another guild member in alliance. I'm not going to name names cause its not important I chalk it down to they don't know me well enough!

Ok that got everyones blood boiling. That was actually my intent. All I want to see from here on is that energy put towards a good use.
Here are a couple things we need to do. One, we ourselves need to be more active, and at the same time understanding when others can't be. I am the last person who will complain if real life creeps in and ruins your UO time. It has happened to me for the last month and a half, and even with my weekends off it is still not where I would like to be. Saturday it looks like I may be busy with family stuff but will try my best to get on. Sunday I should be here though, and we will have our meeting like usual (6:00 PM EST).
Blood Points were given out.
A couple more things to respond to peoples posts.
One, it is true that there are several different ways to be "active" and help the guild. Some are not active on the board but are active in game. One member is not active with his Malkavian character (who is a second character) and is not posting much here either, but is real active in the game with his primary characters and is helping out the Covenant like he always has. So just because one of the characters in a clan is not as active as maybe that clan would like to see, does not mean they are not still contributing. This is an example, there are others too. So we all need a bit of tollerance, myself included.
Two, we are a roleplaying "guild". And colorful "In Character" stories and pretty posts are great. But those who feel they are not as good of rpers as other should not feel intimidated. We are all friends, and we all were new to roleplaying at one time. Dont look at it as "My posts will look crummy next to another's posts" look at it as, "Every time I post, I get better." Because you all do.
I am going to lock the post, I think I have got everyone worked up enough with this post. Lets try to use that energy towards getting the Covenant back to 100%. Also, we need some new faces. As people have to take time off for school and such, or unfortunately move on to other games, we need to keep a steady supply of new blood in the Covenant.
