Shakari Assassinations |
|
Vampires of the Covenant may hire Shakari assassins to perform hits on their enemies. To do this a vampire must seek out a member of the Shakari and hire the clan to perform the job. Shakari work for blood, often they will request other things for payment as well, such as money or boons (favors). But to hire clan Shakari, blood is always a currency.
Here is how it works. The hirer propositions clan Shakari with a minimum of one blood point for each rank the target has earned (most mortals are considered rank one, supernatural beings have their own values dependent on the target in question). The hirer can offer up extra blood points, to increase the value of the assassination. Clan Shakari then selects one of it's own members to complete the mission. The target is alerted of the assassination contract (but the name of the hirer is kept secret). The target is informed how many blood points were put up, and has the option to surrender one blood point to cancel the hit. If the target forgoes the surrender, he stands to gain the entire amount of blood offered to clan Shakari in the unlikely event that he survives the attempt. The period of time that the target will be subject to an attack will be up to one full week.
If the target survives the attempt and kills would be assassin:
The target gets the full amount of blood offered for his assassination, and is immune to any further attempts from clan Shakari for three months.
The hirer loses the entire amount of blood he offered.
The Shakari responsible for the attempt loses one blood point.
All other payments offered to clan Shakari are retained by clan Shakari.
If the target surrenders or goes into hiding and is not found:
The target loses one blood point, and is immune to any further attempts from clan Shakari for one month.
The hirer is returned all of the blood he offered.
The Shakari responsible for the attempt gets one blood point.
All other payments offered to clan Shakari are retained by clan Shakari.
If the target falls to the Shakari:
The target loses the amount of blood offered by the hirer, and the target is immune to further attempts from clan Shakari for one month.
The hirer gets one half (rounded up) the blood points offered for the assassination returned to him.
The Shakari gets the remaining blood points offered for the assassination.
All other payments offered to clan Shakari are retained by clan Shakari.
Shakari normally do not assassinate humans, as they feel humans are below them. However in rare situations assignments are taken. Shakari will still need at least one blood point to perform the mission, but in addition they usually request gold to supplement the assignment.
Here is how it works. The hirer propositions clan Shakari with a minimum of one blood point (most mortals are worth one point only, supernatural beings have their own values dependent on the target in question). To take a contract out on a mortal always costs gold as well as blood. Clan Shakari then selects one of it's own members to complete the mission. The target is alerted of the assassination contract (but the name of the hirer is kept secret). The target is informed how much gold was put up, and has the option to surrender to opt out of the hit. If the target forgoes the surrender, he stands to gain the entire amount of gold offered to clan Shakari in the event that he survives the attempt. The period of time that the target will be subject to an attack will be up to one full week.
If the target survives the attempt and kills the would be assassin:

The hirer loses the entire amount of gold he offered.

The target is immune to any further attempts from clan Shakari for one month.
The hirer is returned all of the gold he offered.

If the target falls to the Shakari:
The target is immune to further attempts from clan Shakari for one month.
Clan Shakari gets one half (rounded up) the gold offered for the assassination.
The Shakari gets the remaining gold and blood point(s) offered for the assassination.
All other payments offered to clan Shakari are retained by clan Shakari.
