Generations and Discipline Ranks

Vampires are all descendents of Cain, the first vampire. The story goes like this. Adam and Eve had two sons, Cain and Able. Able was always earning God’s favor and Cain felt like God liked him more. So one day Cain decided to sacrifice something very valuable to God, something that would put Able to shame. He decided to sacrifice his brother. So Cain slew his brother Able and surprisingly enough, God was not impressed. So God cursed Cain to walk the world forever, never to die until the end of the world.

Cain is considered the first vampire, and his Generation is One. His childer (the vampires he embraced) are considered to be the Second Generation. All of the Second Generation are rumored to be dead. Before they died they embraced the Third Generation of vampires, known as the Antediluvians. The Antediluvians are the founders of most of the vampire clans. The Antediluvian are like gods, most could kill you with but a thought. Below them is the fourth generation, fifth and so on all the way to about ten. Most new vampires are tenth generation. The closer you are to Cain (lower your generation) the higher your potential for power is.

First through Third generation vampires have access to the most powerful levels of Disciplines (vampiric powers). These powers are capable of reshaping the world. Vampiric Disciplines range from Rank One all the way to Rank Ten. The further a vampire is removed from Cain, the weaker his blood is and the lower level Disciplines he is capable of achieving. All vampires no matter what Generation they are can obtain Rank Five Disciplines, if they work at it hard enough (spend the Blood Points and role-play it). Below is a chart showing each Generation, and the maximum Rank of Disciplines they can obtain.
