Blood Points |
|
Blood Points are given out to members for exceptional service.
Blood Points will be given out only to vampires who go above and beyond the call of duty. Blood Points are nontransferable (they can not be given away, traded or sold to other members).
What situations may result in the vampire being rewarded with a Blood Point?
Holding a successful event every week for an entire month.
Offering the services of a mortal/ghoul artisan to the Covenant (if you have a secondary char you would like to put on the COV stone and offer his services to the Covenant, this may result in gaining a Blood Point)
Having a private house designated an Elysium for an entire month. (see Elysiums)
Generosity towards a new member without any expectation of a reward or recognition.
Exceptional role-playing.
Recruiting new members to the Covenant.
Helping out with Covenant goals and quests.
Going through the training courses.
Posting the Covenant Profile personalized for your character to your paperdoll.
Posting on the message board.
Who can give out Blood Points?
Guild founders can give Blood Points out at their discretion.
Every active member rank Bishop or above will be given one Blood Point per month to give to a member (they can NOT give the Blood Point to one of their own characters). Blood Points must be given to someone of lower rank then the Covenant leader and can not be given across stones (COV chars must give only to COV, not COS for example).
What can you do with a Blood Point?
1 Purchase a point of a Discipline
For each point you have in a discipline, it costs you that many blood points to raise it. Example, if you have 3 points in a Discipline, and you wish to raise it to 4, it would cost 3 points to raise it. Before you can raise a Discipline you must first role-play it and get permission from the founders.
2 Petition for rank advancement:
Take your current rank and multiply it by 5, that is the number of Blood Points you would need to turn in to petition for advancement in rank. (See Special Rules for more details on Petitioning for Rank Advancement).
3 Attempt to lower Generation:
Take your current generation and subtract it from 15, multiply by 3. That is how many Blood Points it will cost to attempt to lower your generation. Spend the blood, and you will be given a task, if you complete it, you will gain a generation, if you fail, you lose 1/2 (rounded up) the number of blood points required.
4 Use a Discipline:
Disciplines are Vampiric powers which are extremely powerful. To evoke a Vampiric Discipline it takes one blood point. (See Disciplines for more details on Disciplines).
5 Take out a Contract of Termination:
For each rank of the target, it takes one Blood Point (other fees may apply) to hire a Shakari to perform a hit. Mortals and Ghouls, regardless of their “rank,” always cost one Blood Point. (See Special Rules for more details on Contract of Termination).
6 Pay off fines and cancel blood hunts:
Vampires (or ghouls sponsored by them) sometimes make mistakes which incur the wrath of the Covenant. Minor offences generally incur a penalty of a few Blood Points. Grievous offences sometimes warrant the calling of a Blood Hunt. To terminate a Blood Hunt, it costs 2 times the rank of the vampire the Hunt is called upon to rescind. For example, Dagnar the Abbot (rank 3) insults Sadira. Sadira instantly calls a blood hunt. If Dagnar has (2 x Rank of 3) 6 Blood Points, he may offer it up to cancel the Blood Hunt. If Dagnar does not have 6 Blood Points or refuses to sacrifice them, the entire Covenant will be instructed to kill Dagnar on sight. The member who kills Dagnar will get (2 x target’s Rank) 6 Blood Points, and Dagnar will lose every Blood Point he has stored up. (See Special Rules for more details on Blood Hunts).
7 Skip a meeting:
Every time you do not show up to a Sunday COV meeting, without first giving notification, you will lose one Blood Point.
