Blood Hunts

Ocassionally a vampire needs to be put down, permanently. When this is necessary, a blood hunt is called. This is usually reserved for our sworn enemies, the Camarilla. However, if a Covenant member goes too far out of line, a Blood Hunt can be called on one of our own. Only the Founders have the authority to call a Blood Hunt.

What is a Blood Hunt? A Blood Hunt is when all Covenant vampires are given the task of killing and drinking the blood of a vampire, the intent is to absorb his life force into thier own and possibly become one generation lower (one step closer to Cain, the first vampire). Before a vampire can partake in a Blood Hunt two things must be done. One the Blood Hunt must be called, and two the Founders must cast a sacred spell known as the Ritus de Capa. The Ritus de Capa is a curse which is cast upon the target of the blood hunt (he needs not be present to be affected by it) which causes his life force to become weakened and therefore able to be seperated from his body by Diablerizing (drinking the blood of) him.

The vampire responsible for the kill of the vampire must drink the blood of the fallen vampire, and it is possible that the Diablerist will lower his generation. If the Diablerization is successful, the vampire will be one step closer to Cain (one generation lower).

Blood Hunts do not expire, once called a Blood Hunt is permanent until it is completed. If the target it killed, and the Diablerization is not successful, the Blood Hunt ends in failure. The target must surrender a number of Blood Points designated by the Founder who called the Blood Hunt. Those Blood Points will be given to the vampire who killed the vampire, and the offending party will be considered to have paid for his crimes. If the Diablerization is sucessful, the vampire's ulife force will have been absorbed into the Diablerizer and the victim will cease to exist.

If the vampire sucessfully completeing the hunt has enough blood points saved up to go down a generation, and the Diablerization is sucessful, the vampire may spend his Blood Points and lower his generation by one point.
